AERIAL HOOP & HAMMOCK

Our Aerial Hoop and Hammock classes are designed to bring out the circus performer in all of us. We offer beginner to advanced classes that are open to all genders, bodies, ages, and fitness levels. Students interested in taking a higher level class are encouraged to seek the advice of their instructor.

 

Our certified instructors will place an emphasis on proper technique to ensure the safety and success of all our students. Due to the nature of aerial apparatuses, strength and conditioning exercises will also be a part of our classes.

With the support of their instructor, students should be prepared and inspired to defy gravity in their first class. Please make sure to wear clothing that covers the backs of your knees and torso for our aerial classes. For hammock classes, please make sure to wear t-shirts or tops that cover the armpits.

INTRO TO HOOP

Beginner

Our Intro to Hoop class is the perfect way to introduce students to life in the air. In this class we will break down techniques for inverting through a tuck mount and straddle mount, learn tricks and shapes like Man in the Moon, and work on grip strength and spinning.

Please wear fitted clothing that covers the backs of the knees, armpits, and torso.

HOOP LEVEL 1

Intermediate

For students comfortable with tuck mounts and basic tricks learned in Intro to Hoop, Level 1 provides the next step for your hoop journey. In this class students will learn intermediate tricks like Gazelle, Hip Hold variations, and Monkey Rolls, while working with the incorporation of more spinning and conditioning techniques.

Please wear fitted clothing that covers the backs of the knees, armpits, and torso.

HOOP LEVEL 2

Advanced

Hoop Level 2 is an advanced-level hoop class for students who have been practicing Level 1 for a while and are ready to explore all areas of the hoop (including the top bar, and the spansets!). This class will introduce moves like the Russian Splits, Flag, and Meathook. Expect to visit a number of conditioning exercises designed to strengthen core, shoulders, grip, balance, and more.

HOOP & HAMMOCK FLUIDITY

Intermediate

While our regular aerial classes focus more heavily on individual tricks, Hoop and Hammock Fluidity classes provide an excellent addition to your aerial training repertoire. Here, dancers will learn how to seamlessly combine tricks and movements on or around the apparatuses. These classes build the foundation that lead to the jaw-dropping and heart-fluttering performances you’ve seen on YouTube and Instagram. Hoop Fluidity and Hammock Fluidity are recommended for anyone who is interested in building sequences for freestyles, competitions, performances, and enhancing confidence in their movement. Must have experience in Level 1 Hoop (for Hoop Fluidity or Hammock Fluidity) or a strong foundation in Hammock Vinyasa (for Hammock Fluidity).

HAMMOCK VINYASA

This is not your conventional yoga class. Using the aerial hammocks, students can expect to see familiar postures like Tree Pose and Cobra, but from entirely new angles and heights. Working on strength, balance, flexibility, and mobility, before ending with a long and luscious cocooned savasana, this class has it all!
