POLE CLASSES
Our pole classes are led by certified and knowledgeable instructors. Whether you’re stepping into your very first class or building on years of experience, our classes are designed to inspire, challenge, and empower you.
Your journey with pole will be uniquely your own, whether it’s rooted in fitness, performance, sensual movement, or strength-based training. Having a community like The Studio to support your growth and expression can make all the difference.
Progression through levels is based on instructor approval to ensure students are building the strength, technique, and confidence needed to advance safely.
By showing up to your first class, you’ve already succeeded. Take a look at our class descriptions below, then head to the schedule to book your spot.
We look forward to dancing with you soon!
The Beginning
INTRO TO POLE
Our Intro to Pole classes offer students the opportunity to get to know the pole as a dance partner and tool for exploring their own movement. Students will become familiar with fundamental tricks and spins, as well as climbing preparation. This class lays the foundation for a safe and successful pole practice.
Students are expected to attend multiple Intro classes and receive instructor approval before progressing to the next level, ensuring they have the strength, technique, and confidence to move forward safely.
Please refrain from using lotions or oils the day of class. Shorts above the knee are recommended.
Progression
LEVEL 1
If you have taken Intro to Pole and are comfortable with foundational movements such as Fireman Hold, Back Hook, and Pirouette, you may be ready to take your pole practice to new heights. Progression into Level 1 is based on instructor approval to ensure you have the strength, control, and understanding needed to build safely.
Our Level 1 class builds on the foundational elements introduced in Intro to Pole, including spin pole, flows, floorwork, and tricks. Conditioning and strengthening exercises are introduced and become an important part of your progression. You will also begin applying your climbing preparation to move confidently up the pole.
Newer Level 1 students are encouraged to continue attending Intro to Pole classes to reinforce the fundamentals that support long-term success.
Please refrain from using lotions or oils the day of class. Shorts above the knee are required for this class.
Progression
LEVEL 2
You’ve climbed the pole, found your grip, explored movement on the floor, and may be feeling ready to see the world from a new perspective. Progression into Level 2 is based on instructor approval to ensure you have the strength, control, and technique required to safely begin inversion work.
Level 2 builds on your Level 1 foundation by introducing new tricks, grips, and more dynamic flows, along with your first inversions. In this class, we continue developing strength and conditioning while learning inversions, leg hangs, and more complex upright skills. For many, this is their first time going upside down, and our instructors are there to guide you every step of the way.
Students are encouraged to continue attending Level 1 classes alongside Level 2 to reinforce the strength and technique needed for continued progress.
Please refrain from using lotions or oils the day of class. Shorts above the knee are required for this class.
Progression
LEVEL 3
If you are confident and consistent with your inversions and leg hangs, you may be ready for Level 3. Progression into this level is based on instructor approval to ensure you have the strength, control, and technique required for more advanced and aerial work.
Level 3 builds on your Level 2 foundation by introducing advanced inversions and higher-level techniques. This includes strength-based movements such as shoulder mounts and aerial inversions, flexibility-focused skills like Jade and Layback Bridge, dynamic static spins, and more advanced holds such as Brass Monkey and Ayesha. Expect a significant portion of class time to be spent upside down, so a high level of comfort and control in Level 2 inversions is essential.
Newer Level 3 students are encouraged to continue attending Level 2 classes to maintain and refine the strength and technique needed for continued progression.
Please refrain from using lotions or oils the day of class. Shorts above the knee are required for this class.
FIERCE
HEELS CHOREO
Embrace your sensuality and fierceness in our heels classes. Celebrate the roots of pole dance while developing your own unique style in a fun and supportive environment. Focus is placed on fluidity, musicality, and transitions rather than traditional tricks.
Heels are encouraged but not mandatory. Students are encouraged to bring their own knee pads for floorwork; a limited number of pairs are available to borrow as you get started.
Students are welcome to join once they have completed Intro to Pole and are actively progressing through Level 1, or with instructor approval. This ensures everyone is comfortable with foundational movement and able to participate safely and confidently.
Must be 18+ to take this class.
Please refrain from using lotions or oils the day of class. Shorts are not required for this class.
Strength
POLE CONDITIONING
Looking to make some serious gains in your pole practice? Pole Conditioning is an open-level class designed to build strength, control, and endurance on the pole. Students are welcome to join once they have completed Intro to Pole and are actively progressing through Level 1, or with instructor approval.
This class targets the key muscle groups and movement patterns essential for your strongest pole work. While you won’t be learning the newest Instagram tricks or choreography, you will be developing the strength, stability, and active flexibility that support everything you do in the air and on the floor.
Expect to challenge your body in new ways as you build your “beast mode” strength on the pole each week.
Please refrain from using lotions or oils the day of class. Shorts above the knee are required for this class.
Support
BYOT (Bring Your Own Trick)
This class is a guided Open Pole Playtime designed to feel like a supportive pole jam.
We start with a 15-minute warm-up led by an instructor, then move into open practice time where you can work on whatever you’d like. That might be polishing a favourite trick, revisiting something that didn’t quite click yet, or finally going for that “nemesis move.”
Not sure what to work on? No problem. The instructor is there to help you find ideas, suggest skills based on your level, and guide you through progressions or modifications as needed. This is especially helpful for newer students who are still getting familiar with names of tricks or building confidence in what to practice.
Throughout class, the instructor will circulate the room offering feedback, corrections, and encouragement while you train at your own pace.
It’s also a great space to share the room with others, get inspired, and build confidence as you continue to progress.
Practice
OPEN POLE
Our Open Pole sessions are the perfect opportunity to practice and refine everything you’ve learned in class at your own pace.
Please note that these sessions are one hour long and are not instructor-led. Students attend independently, and our regular late arrival and no-show policies apply.
Please refrain from using lotions or oils the day of class.
